A new big Olympic basin

The watertightness of the big basin has been completely reconsidered. A new cladding consisting of prefabricated stainless steel walls especially for swimming pools covers the concrete walls previously stripped of its tiles.

The integration of this stainless steel tank required the partial demolition of a wall on the width (departure) of the basin.

The bottom of the tank has been thermally insulated.

The new mobile floor consists of a stainless steel frame and is covered with a micro-perforated synthetic coating.

The watertightness of the beaches around the basins has been renewed and the principle of water recovery has been modified for a separation between the overflow water of the basin (for recycling) and the water from the beaches (discharged to the sewers).

A new anti-slip tile has been laid.

The building:

The replacement of curtain walls (window frames) with aluminum profiles and more efficient glazings has led to energy savings and increased bathing comfort by reducing the feeling of cold.

The renewal of the false ceiling and the treatment of the walls with absorbent materials significantly improve the acoustic comfort. New direct and indirect lighting has been installed over the beaches.

Existing showers and toilets have been completely renovated, with the creation of toilets for people with reduced mobility and new footbaths allowing direct access to basins.

AIR AND WATER TREATMENT, NORMATIVE COMPLIANCE AND LESS ENERGY EFFICIENT SYSTEMS

The obsolescence of the air treatment installations and the compliance of these have led to their total replacement (large basin and small basin, changing rooms and cafeteria). New ventilation units and dehumidification equipment for large and small basins were installed on the roof of the building. The revision of the air flows implemented and the modification of the principles of air diffusion make it possible to ensure a perfect quality of air (reduction of the humidity rate and the chloramines) in the halls of the large and small basins.

A reduction in primary energy consumption was achieved by the combination of air dehumidification systems and a heat pump to recover the heat produced by it and return it to the pre-heating of ventilation air, hot water, showers and water in the basins.

The complete replacement of the water treatment facilities, the construction of two independent treatment plants for the large and the small pond and the creation of a second buffer tank allow the respect of the regulations in force (chemical and bacteriological parameters of the water, turn-over) while limiting the use of chlorine and the consumption of new water.

The recovery of the heat contained in the sewage of the showers before putting them in the sewer also contributes to the reduction of the energetic consumption.
